New Paper and Reddit AMA | Numenta News – May 2019
We published a paper in Frontiers in Neural Circuits, “Locations in the Neocortex: A Theory of Sensorimotor Object Recognition Using Cortical Grid Cells.” The paper provides a neural mechanism for computing object-centric locations. New Paper on Sparsity | Numenta News – March 2019
We recently released a new paper about the benefits of using highly sparse representations. Our co-founder Jeff Hawkins and VP of Research Subutai Ahmad gave a talk at Microsoft Research about applying the Thousand Brains Theory of Intelligence to practical machine learning systems. This month, Subutai also presented a poster at COSYNE 2019 with MIT professor Carmen Varela. Two of our researchers, Mirko Klukas and Marcus Lewis, released a new paper on grid cells in collaboration with Ila Fiete of the Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences at MIT.
