Numenta Challenge

This ongoing series of contests based on Hierarchical Temporal Memory (HTM), will alternate between implementation challenges and knowledge challenges. Implementation challenges will stress your NuPIC programming skills, whereas the knowledge challenges will emphasize your understanding of HTM.

Numenta Challenge: GAME

You are invited to participate in our first challenge, the Numenta Challenge: GAME, which is being judged by Electronic Arts.

The idea of this challenge is to create a game based on the Pictures example application. Use your imagination to create a fun game - a brain teaser perhaps, a party game, or a puzzle. If you win, not only will you get a prize, but tremendous exposure to one of the world's largest game companies!

Note: Submission deadline is 11:59PM (PST) January 15, 2008.

Eligibility

All registered NuPIC software users are eligible to participate. To become a registered NuPIC user, please download our software. If you are under 18 years of age, you will need your parent or guardian's approval. Please see the Contest Rules for more information.

Details

By entering the contest, you will continue to own the game you create, but you will give Numenta the right to demonstrate your game, publish your name, and to use the games as case studies. See this page for information on the contest rules and eligibility requirements.

Entry must run on one of the NuPIC-supported platforms, including Macintosh or Windows, and need to be delivered in both binary (executable) form and source code form.

When you've finished your game, submit your entry.

How To Enter

1. Subscribe to our HTM Technology News newsletter for future challenge-related updates.
2. Download the latest version of the software.
3. Create your game, using our documentation and forum for help.
4. Submit your entry when you are ready, but no later than 11:59PM (PST) January 15, 2008.
