GAME: About
On October 26th, we invited our development community to participate in our first Challenge:
"You are invited to participate in our first challenge, the Numenta Challenge: GAME, which is being judged by Electronic Arts. The idea of this challenge is to create a game based on the Pictures example application. Use your imagination to create a fun game - a brain teaser perhaps, a party game, or a puzzle. If you win, not only will you get a prize, but tremendous exposure to one of the world's largest game companies!"
At the end of the contest, only three months later, we had numerous entries but a difficult time determining the winners. We set aside a few hours to sit down with Bing Gordon (CCO) and Scott Cronce (CTO) from Electronic Arts, and began to play. At the end, we not only had selected the winners, but had some great feedback for all of the entrants.

Drawn in 60 Seconds is a drawing game where you draw the requested images as quickly as possible. Each level poses a different challenge. A tablet is best for playing this game, but a mouse works well. The game has multiple levels, a countdown clock, and sound effects.
When you've drawn the requested image, the game queries the NuPIC Pictures example to see if the object is recognized. Port #24583 needs to be available.
Award:
- Microsoft XBox 360 with a suite of games valued over $900. Prizes provided by Electronic Arts

Numenta Pixels is a game where you create a series of Rube Goldberg devices to move a ball into the cup. In this game, you draw land and objects that the game has been trained on, like helicopters, elevators and such.
When you've drawn an object, the game queries the NuPIC Pictures example to see if the object is recognized. If it does, then physical properties are applied to the objects (fans blow, bombs explode, elevators move up/down, etc.).

Mr. X is a multiplayer, online strategy game that is designed around the unique proposition of the HTM system. Each player draws an image, and submits it to others to view and enter the word they think the drawings signify. When all labels have been entered, the next step is to determine which player is Mr.X (the computer).
The gaming experience of Mr. X cannot be repeated without the HTM's ability to perceive patterns from real world data.
Award:
- $100 gift certificate from Amazon.
